Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4. Lightly grease a 6-8 inch ovenproof dish.
In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Fold in the ground almonds, corn flour then add the orange zest.
Arrange the pears upright in the ovenproof dish. Spoon the pudding batter around the pears and dot some marmalade jam.
Drizzle some pear syrup over the pears if you have some then transfer the pudding to the oven.
Bake for 45 – 50 minutes until the batter is golden and the pears are soft. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
