Ingredients

  • 300 g plain flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 70 g plain natural yogurt
  • ½ egg beaten
  • 150 ml water lukewarm
  • 30 ml rapeseed oil
  • clarified butter to serve

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and dust lightly with flour.
  • Combine the flours, baking powder, salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl whisk together the yogurt, egg and the lukewarm water and oil.
  • Pour the yogurt mixture into the flour mixture and combine until a soft sticky dough is formed. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into 10 equal pieces. Form each piece into a ball and arrange on the baking sheet. Lightly brush the dough with oil, cover with cling film, and let sit 1 hour to settle before shaping.
  • Preheat the barbecue or griddle pan over a medium heat.
  • Roll each piece of dough on a lightly floured surface until it is disc shaped. Flatten with a rolling pin or your hands, and place over the barbecue on a medium heat for 2 – 3 minutes on each side until the dough is fully cooked, being careful to ensure it doesn’t burn.
  • Brush with clarified butter and Serve immediately.
