Preheat the oven to 160˚C. grease a 18cm cake tin or cast iron dish.
in a bowl, Place the flour, baking powder and the butter, cheese, chopped herbs.
rub together until it resembles breadcrumbs.
Add the egg and pour in the buttermilk. Gently combine and it forms a dough. Avoid overworking the dough to ensure a better rise of the scones.
Place the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and shape into a flatten ball to fit the tin. Place in the cake tin. Brush with some egg wash and sprinkle extra cheese over if desired.
Slit with a knife the dough into 6 wedges.
Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve warm with your favourite breakfast items.
