Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

Air Fryer Chicken Tenders are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! Use this recipe to do onion ring too!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 chicken filets cut into long strips
  • 120 ml buttermilk
  • 30 g panko breadcrumbs
  • 60 g plain flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • A pinch chilli powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp mixed dried herbs
  • ½ tsp celery salt
  • Salt and pepper
  • oil spray

celery salad

  • ¼ head celeriac celery root
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic
  • 2 tbsp. natural yogurt
  • 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • 1 tsp. cider vinegar
  • 2 baby gem lettuce

Instructions
 

  • Slice the chicken breast into pieces. Place in a bowl with the buttermilk. Toss to ensure the chicken are covered and cover with cling film. Marinate for 30 minutes or longer.
  • In the meantime, prepare the salad, half the baby gem lettuce. Keep aside until the ready to serve. In a bowl, grate the celeriac, the carrot, onion and garlic. Add the mustard, natural yogurt, cider vinegar and a drop of oil. Season well and stir to combine. set aside until the chicken are ready.
  • Then, in a second bowl, combine the breadcrumb, flour, baking powder, chilli powder, paprika, ginger powder, garlic powder, dried herbs, celery salt and some salt and pepper.
  • Preheat Air Fryer to 350°F/180°C for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken strips from the buttermilk and dredge in the breadcrumb mixture to coat on all sides. Put the chicken fingers in the Air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes After 4 minutes and spray the chicken with extra oil spray on one side then turn it carefully over and spray the other side to help crisp and colour. The chicken will be cooked when it is golden brown and crispy and reach the core temperature of 67-70˚C.
  • Serve the chicken with the salad and baby gem! Enjoy while hot.
